Spring 2021 - Teaching Kitchen

Cooking classes were taught by the chef and farm team at Nourishing the Northshore, a local food access organization. With a focus on the nutrition and sustainability of the ingredients, each class began with an introduction to basic food preparation skills and a discussion about the importance of equitable food systems and reduction of food waste. Students prepared meals such as Spring Tabbouleh and Overnight Salads.

Carbon Footprint Tracker

Picture
The Nature Conservancy defines carbon footprint as "the total amount of greenhouse gases (including carbon dioxide and methane) that are generated by our actions. The average carbon footprint for a person in the United States is 16 tons, one of the highest rates in the world. Globally, the average is closer to 4 tons. To have the best chance of avoiding a 2℃ rise in global temperatures, the average global carbon footprint per year needs to drop under 2 tons by 2050."

To determine your carbon footprint, use the EPA's Carbon Footprint Calculator.
